About

A thirty something woman of color, getting her PhD in cell & developmental biology while raising a monkey and another soon to be named animal. I’m also a wife, a daughter, a sister and whole other host of hats. This is a blog of my trials (there were lots at the beginning) and triumphs (we seem to be on the upswing right now).  My thoughts on everything from family and kids, women in science to politics and hockey.

Hi there! It’s so nice to hear about someone who deals with the same issues as I do! I am also a woman of color who received her PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology, and have a young daughter with my wonderful husband. We just moved 6 months ago for me to start my postdoc, and I was looking for forums discussing funding for minorities in science, and I found your blog! I look forward to reading and following your blog so I can lament or smile with you as we make our ways in this field that would benefit from some diversity.
